Biography
Ms. Swain has been engaged primarily in a business law
practice, with an emphasis on organization and formation. She has experience
in contractual matters including drafting legal documents and providing executive summaries and legal opinions for clients. Ms. Swain’s clients include sole proprietors, disadvantaged business enterprises
and locally owned franchises. Ms. Swain also practices in the area of civil litigation
focusing primarily on business and family law matters. Her background includes
marketing and planning, research and municipal finance.
Ms. Swain currently serves as General Counsel for Susie
Moore & Associates, Realty Inc. She is also a member of the Washington Real
Estate Broker’s Association.
Ms. Swain received her Juris Doctorate from the Washington
College of Law at American University (1999) where she was selected for the highly competitive Civil Practice Clinic. She received her B.A. from the University of Virginia (1996) graduating as a Ridley Scholar.
Ms. Swain also studied at La Universidad de Valencia, Spain. She is
barred in the state of Maryland and admitted to practice before the Court of Appeals of Maryland. Ms. Swain
is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association and the Bar Association of Montgomery County, Maryland.
Ms. Swain is the Co-Founder of G.R.A.C.E. a mentoring
program for young women in the District of Columbia and Prince George’s County.
